"The South Eastern Cave Rescue Organisation is established to search for and rescue persons injured or stranded above or below ground and to assist the Police in these and similar activities." So reads the objectives of the Organisation.
Croydon Caving Club, being affiliated to SECRO, maintains a list of members who have shown an interest in being involved. On receipt of a request from the Police, the Club Warden will, following liason with the Controller, phone members on the list giving details of the location and nature of the incident.
We are always on the look out for more people to participate, the main criteria being that you have a telephone, transport and some knowledge of the local mines.
I have been appointed to act as call-out Warden for the Club in place of Charlie Peacock.
If anyone is interested in joining, please phone either myself or Charlie.
