When you read this I am hoping that the 2018 AGM will be imminent or just passed. I would like to take this opportunity to thank both the committee and other club members for all they have done for the club over the past 12 months. Who knows what the new committee will look like although I suspect that it will look much like the last one. If you have never considered putting yourself forward, perhaps now is the time.
I would also like to extend a warm welcome to any new or returning members. I hope that everyone will do their utmost to make you feel welcome.
This year we shared a bonfire party with the village which had benefited from a lottery grant to help with the event.
The annual dinner in December was once again held at The New Inn and was very well attended. Up from 26 people last year to 30 this year. The use of the new carvery meant that everyone received plenty of good hot food at a reasonable price.
On New Year’s Eve a communal meal in the cottage was co-ordinated by Paloma who also did the lion’s share of the cooking. 19 people were able to sit down and share a 3 course meal in the main room of Godre Pentre.
Improvements to the cottage continue, albeit slowly. We are now in the process of converting the kitchen to all electric cooking. New Year demonstrated however that we will need to upgrade the supply before this can be completed.
Good caving everyone.
